Love the design and all its features except now it's tripping on high internal temperature alarm. We keep it in the garage and it doesn't get above 85F on the hottest days. I ran it through test mode and everything functions well except the compressor suction line doesn't get as cold as it should. It would be weird for it to have lost refrigerant but I guess anything's possible. It's still pretty new so it's odd that it's already having problems.

I am very pleased with my new garage ready upright freezer. It has an amazing amount of storage space. The shelving is sturdy and will hold large amounts of frozen food. It has a wonderful large wire basket for random shaped items. The electronic control with the alarm is a great feature for a garage freezer.

Although it arrived needing a new motherboard; it's been working great. The shelves and interior design are also exactly what I wanted; and are very sturdy. We had looked at other brands before we bought this one; and felt the GE design, construction, and function were far superior.

While the garage ready feature is very nice, this model has a few flaws that are major. First, while it says it is 17 cubic ft, the interior is measurably smaller than the 30-year-old 17 cubic ft Gibson freezer that this GE replaced. Second, the shelves are very weak and bend in the middle without being full or loaded with meat. I didn't have that problem with the Gibson even with meat from 1/2 a cow. Third, when you open the door, the whole freezer slides on the cement, even with food in the freezer. I had to put rubber on the front legs to stop the sliding. I'm hoping it will last 30 yrs like my old Gibson, but I doubt it.

We really love this freezer BUT the high temp alarm goes off every 6 hours. It is very cold inside and door seal is very strong. Would love to give 5 stars if it weren't for this. Leery to fill it up until we get this resolved. Currently have thermometer inside to see if it is actually zero degrees inside. Everything is perfect otherwise. Great shelves, roomy door shelves, great lighting inside… looking forward to many years of use.

Initially the high temperature alarm went off every 6 hours, GE Support sent out a technician and knew immediately what the issue was and remedied it in less than 30 minutes. Now it works perfectly, very satisfied with this product.

Received the freezer with no damage. Plugged it up and the lights on the control panel came on as they should. The freezer ran about four hours and the light went ran for another four hours the other light went out. Everything great so for.

I thought I was ordering the freezer with the temperature showing on the front but it doesn't have nor does it have the temperature reading showing inside. I don't like the handle which is an indent ion in the door. I wanted a full handle. Otherwise we have only had it a week and works like it should. Like the led light inside. Easier to see what you have inside on all the shelves.

First off, I was impressed with the level of packaging it came in. No way was it getting scratched, dented or otherwise damaged. Once all packaging was removed, the door handle needed to be installed, which was super easy. Next was putting it where you wanted it and leveling it so that the door would swing shut on its own when opened to a 45 degree angle. I waited nearly 24 hours to plug it in to allow oil in the compressor to settle. I have it set up in my living room,( I have a small kitchen ) and cant even hear it run, real quiet. Electronic controls on the door and the ability to lock the door were some of the selling points for me. So far I have had it two weeks, put a split half of beef and a half of hog in it with room to spare. Totally happy with my purchase and would highly recommend.

Lots of room - Thoughtful design. The lock is great in the event something should shift inside the freezer, the lock will keep the door closed. Purchased the garage ready model due to temperature variances. I feel I made the right choice going with a GE.
